Prissy the Early Bird Loves Breakfast!

This little girl was rescued from a commercial puppy mill so she needs help learning how to be a pet–she can only go to a home with a socialized dog already living there. The children in the home must be over the age of 10.

Prissy has spent her whole life in a small cage in a commercial kennel. Prissy was born 03/17/02 and weighs 14 pounds. Prissy is learning to run (she can now beat me in a race back to the house), play, go up and down steps and be part of a family. She does fine with cats and other dogs. She LOVES breakfast and loves to get up early to eat. She’s learning that dirty socks and toys are good things to play with. She’s learned how to jump onto, and off of, the couch, and has the leg strength to do it now!!

She’s a very gentle poochie. Even the girls at the groomer’s said so. Humans still make her a tad nervous, but she WILL seek out human contact. She’s still working on the concept of “house training”, she’s no longer afraid of the outdoors, but doesn’t quite get the concept that she should ask to go out to go potty.

You’ll be Sweet on Candy Cane!

Seriously, how can you resist this sweet treat?

Candy Cane Small Paws

Candy Cane Small Paws

This Bichon was rescued from a commercial puppy mill and can only be placed in a home with a socialized dog already living there. The children in the home must be over the age of 10. Candy Cane has spent her whole life in a small cage in a commercial kennel. Candy was born in 2003. She is so sweet all you want to do is hold her and cuddle with her. Her favorite times are cuddle time and meal time. It took only 2 weeks to get her on a potty schedule and she is now housebroken. They love her at the beauty salon / groomer’s where she goes once a month for her beauty treatment. I bathe and comb her in between and she just lays there like a lump of sugar and so easy to care for. Candy shows no interest in playing, but enjoys sniffing around the fenced yard.

Special Birdie Needs a Home in Arkansas

Birdie is a cutie pie!

Birdie is a female bichon who was born sometime in 2006. She weighs 17 pounds. Birdie is a sweet girl who came into rescue when her elderly owners could no longer care for her. We believe that Birdie spent most of her time outside, so she isn’t well socialized around people but is slowly but surely starting to come around and her cute and funny personality is starting to show through. Birdie gets along very well with her foster brothers and immediately learned how to use the doggie door to a fenced yard. She has had an occasional accident but is doing very well on her house training.

Since Birdie is working on her socialization she would do best with a fenced yard to ensure her safety. Birdie does very well at home with her foster brothers during the day while Mom is at work. Kids in the home should be 10 and older. All Birdie needs is time, love and patience. Won’t you please give this sweet girl an opportunity to have a loving forever home? Birdie recently had a seizure. She has not had another episode and is fine, but due to that she needs to be adopted by someone within driving distance of Central Arkansas. Birdie is being fostered in Arkansas.

Chloe is a Couch Cuddler!

This pretty girl was born to snuggle!

Chloe Small Paws

Chloe Small Paws

My name is Chloe. I am a female bichon born in 2007 and weigh 17 lbs. My foster mom says I have the sweetest face and am as cute as a button. I am calm, love scratches and belly rubs and will take all I can get. I especially like snuggling up with my foster mom on the couch. I am housetrained, crate trained, and know how to use a doggy door to a fenced yard. I love to go for leashed walks and rides in the car. I am a good watch dog . I get along with other dogs or I can be an only dog. I do not tend to interact with other dogs and mostly ignore them. Children in the home should be at least 10 or older. I have not seen a cat, so I don’t know if I would like them or not.

Lacy Small Paws

Lacy Small Paws

Lacy is a female Bichon who was born in 2005. She weighs 28 pounds. Lacy is a sweet girl who has had surgery for bladder stones. She has now fully recovered and is looking for her forever home. Lacy gets along great with other dogs and does fine with cats. She would also do well as your only dog. Children in the home should be aged 10 and over. Lacy is low keyed and just loves being around her favorite person (who could be you if you are the lucky one:)) A fenced in yard would be nice and she would love her person to not work full time. She rides great in the car and loves nice walks around the block. Lacy is house trained.

Presley Will Be the King of your Heart!

Here’s a young Fluff who dances when he sees his humans!

Presley is a male bichon/mix who was born sometime in 2010. He weighs 21 pounds. Presley had to have his tail amputated due to an injury. He is completely healed and doing well. He is a happy boy with lots of energy!

Presley Small Paws

Presley Small Paws

Presley can never be caged or kenneled. not even at the groomer’s. He has to be washed, cut and sent home, never put in a cage to be dried. He needs a home with another dog or someone who is at home at all times, he can never be left alone as he will have anxiety and start to panic. I have found that he loves being with my basset and doesn’t mind being with her while we are at work. He will need a home with another dog. He is completely potty trained and loves long walks, and is wonderful on a leash. Presley is very much a alpha dog and wants to be the boss. He gets along with children aged 4 and over. He will give you more love then you ever had before and will stand on his hind legs and dance with you when he first sees you. No matter if it’s the first thing in the morning or when you get home from work. He doesn’t get along with cats, not that he dislikes them, but he get’s soooooooooo excited when he see’s them, he scares them and they attack.

You Can’t Resist Skipper!

Skipper is a young Fluff, ready to jump into a new home!

Skipper Small Paws

Skipper Small Paws

Hi, my name is Skipper, and I’ll tell you why! I am very energetic and I like to jump, turn around in circles, and jump some more. In fact, my foster uncle said I’m a champion high jumper. I even jumped on my foster dads shoulders the other day when he sat on the porch step to read the mail! You can see why I will need a tall doggie gate or pen. Probably one reason I’m so active is because I’m still really a puppy. I’m possibly a Bichon Havanese, because I have very soft fine hair.. I get along with other dogs, but I like to be in charge when we play. I don’t really like being put in a pen or crate, because I prefer being with my people, and I let them know by barking when they have to put me up. Oh, and like most puppies, I play nip when I get excited, and tend to be a bit hyper, so I’ll need my forever family to help me with that. If I’m with children, they will need to be at least 10-years-old. I know what a doggie door is, and I like to use one to a fenced yard. Potty training? Well, I’m working on that. I will walk on a leash, but I need more training in walking without pulling. Did I mention I’m very, very cute?! You probably can’t resist me!
